Step by step as we remove a garden monster

Large trees in a small space require great care, special skills and experience. The pictures below take you step by step through a typical day's work:

This giant spruce dominated the car park area and was a danger. Another view of the monster tree from the outside seating area. We start by removing the lower branches, climbing as we go.
The branches and trimmings are shredded on site and removed. It gets more challenging up in the canopy, trimming off more branches. Safety first - harnesses and securing ropes are a key activity on the job.
High up in the canopy, still removing braches as we climb ever higher. Finally, the crown is severed and lowered gently to the ground. Now it's " just " the bare trunk to deal with - several tons in weight! !
Removing the trunk in manageable sections. Safety harness and protective equipment are essential. Nearly there. A few more sections to go before we reach ground level and remove the trunk sections. Job done with just the stump to be removed. The site is already tidied and the debris has been taken away.
